International Lottery Scam Referencing H.D. Vest Financial Services

It has come to our attention that somebody is using the H.D. Vest Financial ServicesSM name to conduct a scam. The scam involves a letter telling the recipient that they have won a large sum of money in a lottery through the "International Lottery Corporation" or some similar organization. The letter provides a phone number to call (typically an international number) in order to claim the prize. The letter also encloses a document that looks like a check.

H.D. Vest Financial Services has nothing to do with this and believes that this is a scam. If you receive a letter like the one described above, YOU SHOULD NOT RESPOND. If you are an H.D. Vest customer, then you should bring this to the attention of the H.D. Vest Advisor listed on your account statements. If you are not an H.D. Vest customer, then you should contact the appropriate law enforcement agency.
